2022 Risk Avoidance & Risk Management Conference

We are pleased to present the 2022 Risk Avoidance and Risk Management Conference. This is the annual risk management conference with a successful record spanning decades. The conference focuses on actual issues faced by practicing psychiatrists. Each year core faculty review timely and relevant risk management issues in conjunction with other invited local experts. We utilize several didactic lectures with significant time for questions raised by conference attendees. This year topics addressed will include: Attorney David Cash addressing risk management issues in the use of technology and remote psychiatric practice; Dr. Thomas Gutheil will review considerations of managing and maintaining appropriate boundaries in conducting boundary crossings while avoiding boundary violations; our own Attorney James Hilliard will continue to enlighten us with the top risk management questions and issues raised by membership for 2022; Dr. Steven Schlozman will discuss strategies for managing an outpatient clinical practice, balancing considerations of risk management and sustainability for
practitioners. Dr. Douglas Jacobs will review the current state of suicide-focused assessment. Dr. Laura Prager will discuss the management of psychiatric emergencies in the contemporary environment. Each speaker will have a significant block of dedicated time for facilitated questions from the participants.
