Please join us for the MPS Psychiatry & Law and Public Sector joint Committee meeting on Monday, March 13 at 7:00 pm via Zoom Videoconferencing. This month the Psychiatry and the Law section will focus on exploring the history, present use, and possible future changes to Massachusetts involuntary commitment statute Section 12 with Dr. Celeste Peay. The talk will cover the legal framework including current statute language, regulations, and relevant case law. We will also discuss how COVID and current workforce capacity challenges with ED boarding have changed its use. We also invite a discussion of potential solutions to current challenges.
